I'm applying for the warm home discount and its asking if I recieve child element and housing element of universal credits but doesnt ask if I recieve either of them through tax credits, so should i say yes, even tho I'm not receiving them through UC? Or could this result in my claim being turned down?
This seems to happen on alot of applications
How did you get on? I switched from Utilita to bulb as I was having the same problem
  • You can always apply to universal credit if you think you qualify and then apply to warm home discount. Make sure you qualify before applying though.

By the time all that is done the WHD could be closed for a lot of energy suppliers. I know some are already closed. A person should never claim UC when claiming tax credits until they are 100% certain they qualify and they won't be worse off in the process. Whilst some people are better off on UC, this definitely doesn't apply to everyone and some will be worse off.
