What browntoa says, both sheets of glass and the spacers between all come as a sealed unit. Easy to remove and replace.
If they're old windows, they could be installed from the outside...

Nothing drastic will happen, no. It doesn't look very nice though and they aren't expensive to replace.

i don't really notice it so much, and it dries out within a few hours.  only happens on some days and not every day.  i think tends to happen when it has been raining.
  • As far as I know, it has very little effect - if any at all - on the insulation properties of the unit. It's purely a visual thing.

    Hi All,
We have 3 windows in the house that suffer from condensation not only on the inside of the windows but also in between the window panes. I noticed some of the seal are slightly coming off too, I wonder if the window is still repairable or does it need a total replacement?
The unit has blown so the only thing you can do now is replace it. You should have local glass firms that can replace just the units.
    Not quite the only thing.

There are videos on Youtube etc of people carefully removing the two panes of glass from the sealed units, cleaning both, replacing the silica gel crystals in the box aluminium, sealing the glass back to it and putting it back it! It can be done with care and the cost is fairly minimal so if you are fairly handy and have plenty of time......
