England will come out of lockdown from 12.01am on Wednesday, December 2.

Restrictions will be lifted on the Wednesday and the new rules will be in place that day depending on what tier you are in.

Hairdressers will be allowed to reopen in all 3 tiers.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

Can anyone tell me for definite, when hairdressers can reopen. We are being told lickdown ends on the 2nd December, but when can hairdtessers reopen? Is it Thursday 3rd, or Wed, 2nd? Thank you

Depends what tier you will fall into.

I think you may have posted the wrong link...

What I did find was a bbc news link saying hairdressers would be open at end the lockdown but I cant find it now.

Before the PMs statement yesterday I was under the impression that 28 days means 28 full days.
In which case the 2nd is day 28 so it's not until the 3rd as day 29 that things can re open. At 12.01am if necessary lol.

I am baffled as to why there is so much uncertainty still. Most sources clearly quote 12.01am on 2 December as the end of lockdown. As pointed out above, however, 2 December is day 28, and the regulations say:
"1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) (England) (No. 4) Regulations 2020. (2) These Regulations come into force on 5th November 2020.
23.—(1) These Regulations expire at the end of the period of 28 days beginning with the day on which they come into force. "

According to the NHBF the date was the 3rd but has been revised to the 2nd as per

So, I make that everything is still closed on the 2nd and everything is open on the 3rd?

I think that things were supposed to stay closed, but now it will depend on which tier you are in, beginning on 2nd December, whether you can open or not.
But it appears that hairdressers can be open in all 3 tiers.

The Winter Plan disagrees with the legislation (see earlier post by KxMx). The legislation doesn't seem to have been amended, at least not to change the date. Who knows?

I had a text off my hairdressers today, which said Government announcement means they will be reopening on December 2nd.
