Also - everytime you make a purchase does it come back with a soft search on your file?
I can see a soft search from them back in July but that doesn't seem to correlate with a purchase. Only other search I have is a hard search from when it was opened.
I can only suggest trying the purchase again from the Myplan website.
Also and this is very slim, that they've/computer been spooked by you trying to use your whole credit limit within a week. Try waiting or make a smaller purchase.
IT looks like that was it. Having said that my first call with them the person did suggest that they might have got spooked and put a block on my account but once he spoke to the underwriters he told me block was removed and i could purchase what i wanted within my limit. Who knows!

How does this appear in your credit file? If you are doing buy now and pay later, does it start straight away on your file?

Also quick question - did you ever get your credit limit increased throughout you time with Currys or has it stayed the same.
Not sure how you would go about getting a credit increase. It's not obvious looking on the website.
Personally as I've only had the account since May and the limit is already generous its probably not something I will look in to.

Like a credit card only your balance shows on your credit file. As its BNPL and you're only making payments as and when the plan ends it will be recorded as No data/Unknown.

I see - so on your credit file it says your balance for the current time i.e
your limit is 5k and your balance is 2k as you made purchases from day 1 and did a buy now pay later. So this will reflect on your file from day 1 showing you are using 3k of your limit. But when it comes to payments each month, there will be no green tick just a U mark

    Is that right?

    Exactly right.

Went for the Pro with plug in adapter. £139. Had to buy a chime separately at £29.
  • I can see where this is heading...
  • Have you made any payments to the account, yet?
If no, then that may be the reason...... with the additional purchase nearly maxing out the credit limit and with no history there maybe a cap on the account for x months until a repayment history shows.

  • I’ve just had this happen to me. I’ve £3500 limit. Bought one thing then when to buy a second item and discovered I was locked from buying anything else on your plan. How did you get the lock removed?

basically what i found was it was too close my limit as a new customer. So even though they gave me 2000 limit, i went to close too it and they refused the item. I did another order a little lower and it went through fine.

After a month or two you can use your full limit

That is what i think and that is what happened to me
