Received county court proceeding from Mister Baywatch

Options
Hello
I have received County Court Proceeding from Minster Baywatch amounting to £237.00.
I parked in the Reel carpark, purchased ticket but over stayed by 27 mins !! I still have the ticket.
Being a little stubborn, I ignored the correspondence ( during lockdown) hoping it would go away !
I have done the AOS on line, so have a few weeks.
The question I have is it worth defending, or shall I just accept and pay.
Thanks in advance
R

Nobody can answer your question because too many facts are unknown plus a loss in Court is likely to be cheaper anyway

You will get advice on defending and saving money , nothing else

Read and follow the advice in this thread , but in your case it's Minster Baywatch who are the PPC

Of course it is worth defending, they are trying to scam you.

Issue Date shown on county court claim form N1 please?
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Please tell us on what date you filed an Acknowledgment of Service.
Your MCOL Claim History will have the definitive answer to that.
  • Hello

    Hello
Issue date of the claim was 2/11/20 and I filed the AOS on the 11/11/20.
    Many thanks

With a Claim Issue Date of 2nd November, and having filed an Acknowledgment of Service in a timely manner, you have until 4pm on Monday 7th December 2020 to file your Defence.
That's two weeks away. Plenty of time to produce a Defence, but please don't leave it to the last minute.
To create a Defence, and then file a Defence by email, look at the second post in the NEWBIES thread.
Don't miss the deadline for filing a Defence.
  • Filed defence and have now recieived Direct Questionaire (Small Claims Track) asking I would like to mediate. Is this a viable option, or should I proceed to court ? Thanks in advance.

The NEWBIE sticky is always the place to go and read, via a link, the section called "know what you must do and when"  In there it specifically states say NO to mediation.  How can anyone mediate when a judge has not decided the case.  If you look at both sides, you want to pay £ZERO and the PPC (claimant) wants £FULL.

You do need to read the NEWBIES and be ready for this stuff; it even tells you how to answer every question...
