Do you take cashback into account when switching?

Curious to know whether anyone takes cashback with annual cost into account when switching, i.e. do you take the cheapest deal (annual cost) with or without cashback? The cheapest deal for me was with Shell Energy but the annual cost had cashback taken into account, whereas another deal (coincidentally with separate energy suppliers) would have been more expensive but had no cashback and would have been the cheapest deal without cashback.

Personally I alway choose without counting in cashback as you are never guaranteed you will let it, I do this with all types of cashback. However it’s nice when you do get it.

If you do a whole of the market comparison (start with Citizens Advice and 'Switch with Which?') it's unlikely that the best deals will pay cashback, so the question will probably be academic.0

No never for any purchase .

I ignore cash backs for reasons as Hammer T states

I made around £270 in bill credit in the 6 months I was with Bulb, using only slightly more than that worth of energy and standing charges. Once I had exhausted my referrals I switched away to a much cheaper supplier. I absolutely factor in the incentives to the overall cost. I've never failed to receive the promised credit.0

I don't anymore because of the relatively small amounts and may be difference of £1/2 per month. In the past when amounts were far larger i did though but was on it sharpish if didn't track straight away in Quidco, etc.0

Not really fussed about cash back, free gifts or what ever. I'd rather they took it off the original price. a bit like aldi and lidl's. no reward card or discounts. just better price to begin with.1

No never as it in not guaranteed.
I never ever look at anything that offers a 'gift' to sign up.
Like Michael Parkinson offering a cheap nasty biro for signing up to whatever he is flogging at the moment.

Appreciate the replies. I should have mentioned that I meant cashback from the likes of the Cheap Energy Club or the supplier themselves (e.g. bill cashback or online discounts) rather than cashback via Quidco or TopCashback.1

Did your whole market search find any cheap suppliers offering cashback? You've probably already found the answer !1
