Have I given Three 30 days notice?
Good evening all.
I'm keen to leave 3 as soon as possible but it seems to be difficult online. I have the app but it was out of date, however I've updated it but I'm still unable to use it because it requires Wi-Fi to set it up! Seriously, why would it need this when I'm applying using the SIM that I'm trying to cancel??
I still have access to My3
though, but clicking on the purple 'next' button has done nothing.... or has it? A floating box then came up inviting me to apply for PAC which I did, but it's been 10 minutes now and no text has arrived. So I'm not sure if I've managed to apply for either!

Requesting a PAC is not 'giving notice'. If you don't use it with your new provider within 30 days, it expires and the contract continues. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Text PAC to 65075, Three will reply within a minute... been there, no problem at all to get a PAC and move from Three.1

I had to include my date of birth in the text, just a month or so ago. Look on the 3 website for the format required. The number above is correct, the response is almost immediate.
Then sign up to your chosen new provider, giving them the PAC, and everything will proceed from there. Be prepared for a short period of no service when the transfer occurs.

Update: managed to give notice via Live Chat before they closed for the evening. I'll be transferring to PAYG on 23 December, but I've since found out 3 increased rates up to 5-fold in March. Still, that gives me extra time as I can apply for the PAC in January and move my current number elsewhere.0 -
You either give notice, or request a PAC, you can't do both. Requesting a PAC overrides your notice request. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

If you want to keep your number and therefore use a PAC you WILL have a period of no service BUT it is usually only an hour or so while the number is switched over from one network to the other.2

Beware the transfers only take place Monday to Friday and take around 24 hours from when you give the PAC to the new network, who then requests the change from the old network and this has to be agreed. You will have a new temporary number on the SIM from your new provider, which will work when received. My change over occurred around 7am for both SIMs.1
