Thursday 31st December 2020
Anyone else had an earworm of The Doors 'The End' for days now.
If 2020 was a bath bomb it would be a toaster
An american newspaper asked readers to describe the year and a 9 yo said
"It's like looking both ways before crossing the road and then getting hit by a submarine
Many many thanks to you all and see you next year - still resisting saying 'it's got to be better' just keep dodging the curve balls and surfing the waves.

Gratitudes - My rope arrangement of the trolley worked really well (threaded a rope washing line through the bars of the supermarket trolley (not stolen - I have every intention of returning it, just borrowed for the duration) so that I could send it down the path to the food delivery truck in case the path had started to ice up again. To the NHS and all the workers. For books, music and other things that allow me to escape when I physically can't go anywhere. Thank you to @mothernerd for running this month, it has kept me sane when I could feel myself getting a tad frazzled. We really need to be reminded that there are things we cannot control, and they are the things we need to let go of, there is plenty we can control, and that is where our energy needs to be directed.Did spit my tea all over the place when I heard Stanley Johnson has applied for French citizenship. Blimey, Xmas in the Johnson household must have been a proper bun-fight. Could you imagine?I'm watching Beauty and the Beast as well with tea, not grown up cocoa like Deni.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Well, that was 2020.
I did have some adventures but sadly my travels are curtailed for now. I’ll just have to find different kinds next year. I did laugh a lot but also had some sad times. I lost some close and very dear relatives but we can’t dwell on sadness nor would they want me to. I hope I’ve been kind but I have been truly amazed by the kindness and thoughtfulness shown to me by others. It’s been a difficult year for all of us to say the least but I am so grateful that I haven’t been as badly affected as some. I have a warm home, enough food, no money worries and a lovely family. Thank you Mothernerd for December and to all you Turtles out there for your support over the year.
Here’s to 2021. May we all be happy and healthy.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.6 -
NSD 14/15. Pleased at this effort. Had my 1500ml water today.
I’m one of those folk who must have a clean house to bring in the new year. I have spent most of today cleaning those areas that rarely see a cloth - the tops of cupboards and picture frames, underneath and behind the couch. There was actually a small feast for a mouse behind the couch : a raisin, some toast crumbs, a bit of oatcake, some other unidentifiable nibbles. The joys of having a toddler. In fairness, I take some responsibility for the toast crumbs - guilty of enjoying a wee tea and toast while curled up on there.
Our budget always starts on on the first Monday of a new month - so I usually save any underspends before then. Today I moved £95 into our emergency fund saved from underspends in transport and fun budgets.
Grateful for being here to live through and experience this most unusual year, to see my DS grow another year older, to have another year on this earth. It’s been a tough one but I’ve had tougher being a big-C survivor.
Here’s to a better year my fellow NSTs. See you in January!

Thanks for December MothernerdWon't be sorry to see the back of this year, but I am grateful to still be here, warm and with enough to eat.Managed 9 NSDs, which isn't bad as I don't really make exceptions for myself - if I spend it, it is spent! Spends included unplanned things such as replacing an elderly appliance which gave up the ghost, having to replace the battery on the car for the same reason, and planned costs such as paying OH's tax bill, alongside modest Christmas costs, and charity donations. Still, no debt has been incurred, all was paid for from income and / or savings. This was by no means always the case!Looking forward to putting up my new calender tomorrow, and starting my 2021 diary and budget bookHappy New Year to everyone, and 'see' you all next year6
