NSD 7/15
Didn’t reach my goal of drinking 1500ml water today but did manage 1000ml. Brisk 20 minutes walk in the winter sun, homemade soup and leftover pineapple chunks for lunch, and vegetarian chilli for dinner as planned.
Tomorrow will be a spendy day - meeting a friend for lunch and doing Christmas Day dinner shopping. Dinner shouldn’t cost too much given it’s only for DS, OH, and I. Can’t believe Christmas is a week tomorrow - this has been the weirdest year. I wonder how they’ll write about it in the history books!
Grateful for a dry and sunny day, cosy couch throws, and blogs.

hello, sorry for lack of posting. RL has just been too busy. Went to collect DD2 and her stuff from uni last weekend, her housemates had already left so we stayed a night and enjoyed some shopping and lunch and the Xmas lights.
My FT and PT jobs have been really busy and i can't wait for the Xmas break. I still need to buy some more Xmas presents but i should crack it this weekend...
DD1 and her bf got the keys to their house on Tuesday! They have started moving their stuff in and stayed the night there yesterday on a mattress on the floor. DD2 had a scan at hospital today and a phone call with the consultant; all is ok and she will go back in a year.
Gratitudes - DD1 going into the next exciting chapter of her life; DD2 having a good check up and no treatment or operation needed for now; great pilates class via Fb to stretch me out
love to all

Hope today is a better day, Mothernerd.
Yesterday was NSD No 12
I'm doing absolutely nothing today because it's my birthday and I'm allowed to. Himself bought me lots of nice pressies and I've had messages from my family in New Zealand and my friend down south. And the little ones have come to the door on the way to school to sing "Happy Birthday". Apparently they are making me a card but I've not to tell anyone because it's a secret.
Off to have coffee.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.9 -

Happy birthday Toni'sfriend. Calling hope you have a lovely time and will see you on the other side.
Yesterday has gone. Drawing a line under it (nothing tragic, just mum being mum). However I am now behind schedule so need to regroup. My room is not going to get decorated - I have previously spent a happy Boxing Day twining fairy lights in and out of the stair surrounds. Will move my presents (unwrapped) to the front room by the card tree (mum's presents are under and around the actual tree and moving out into the room), use the window sill in my room to hold more books (have a couple of very strong boxes to make extra shelves but will put that aside for the time being). Temporary holding facilities (weak boxes and two broken drawers - bottoms keep falling out) will be binned/ hidden as appropriate. Will then throw fairy lights over everything.
So what needs doing
1) My space needs to be clean and clear (nothing on the floor, nothing that will fall over). Making more book space/ rearranging them in order, temporarily shelved (sorry dreadful pun).
2) Revised cleaning schedule. Will work backwards from Christmas Eve, try to do the heavy stuff over the weekend. Today I'm going to walk round with a pack of wipes and do all the little bits that are annoying me plus hygiene essentials - taps, handles, light switches. mothernerd tip If you have boys, do not put the clean bathmat out until Christmas Eve (after tea/ bedtime).
3) Would like to get to the bank and deposit money (now everyone else has been sorted, money mum owes me can be reclaimed). It's not essential, there is enough money in the bank to pay all outgoings. It's more a peace of mind/ good finances thing. Want to see my balance going up again but don't want to be in town when the teenagers are let out. Decide later (really don't want to go out).
4) Food - was going to do another 'next day' order or a 'twixmas' order. There is a potential problem looming, in that the milk people will not be delivering next Friday and possibly Saturday and /or Monday. Mum also left a note cancelling the eggs off the order. We have a turkey crown and lots of veg. Very little fridge / freezer space. I may just go with what I have - there have been lots of year's when I would have had to including my most miserable festive period when I was putting together a New Year 'feast' with very little money - the prime ingredient was a huge 50p bag of squashed tomatoes. Get into the vegetarian/ veganuary thing early. I really don't want to shop.
5) Any cards that have not been written, any gifts that have not been ordered or sent are going to stay that way (possible exception for charitable donations but that will still be needed and used whenever it is sent).
What do I need?
1) Good sleep and plenty of it. Feel so much better after my long rest. Calm and in control.
2) Food that nourishes my body, mind and spirit. Spent yesterday with a box of carrots by my side and munched them absently throughout the day - only a little thing but can feel it has done me good.
3) Books I want to build a book cave, crawl inside and hibernate. Not practical but will do what I can.
4) Alone/ outside time Even on the blowing a gale day, I wanted to wrap up warm and just sit quietly in the yard for a while.
5) Music Was playing music first thing for a few days and it energised me. Haven't done it the last two days (only realised when it was too late and might have disturbed the neighbours) and they have been much harder.
6) Being Well The cold, cough, sore throat thing is on the ascendant again. I must recognise the effect it has on me and do all the self-care and nurturing things that help - honey, soup, maybe an indulgent hot chocolate (only allowed one or two a year), not asking too much of myself or my body. Simplify.
Okay I have a plan - well mostly a not doing it plan as it turns out. Need to get on with shower, breakfast and then regroup. Put a pack of wipes in my pocket so I can wipe anything I notice, self-soothe by sorting my books (need to redo the bed from scratch if I have strength to move the heavier covers) and concentrate on food planning/ storage and a bit of freezer tetris.
