BT TV HUGE variation in volume between channels

Unfortunately theres nothing you can do. Annoying isn't it?
Its like when your watching a programme with normal sound levels, then when an advert comes on the volume increases significantly. That happens because for adverts broadcasters increase the sound compression. The higher the compression, the louder the volume and each channel works to its own compression. Thats thats why you get the difference in volume between channels.

I used to have that problem when I had BT vision and it also happened on TV channels the sound is just right then you get the intro to the show or the adverts and the sound is louder. I know it's annoying especially in a flat and the occupants in flats above complain.
