Where is my car kept?

Unless you have a locked gate or a barrier it's a 'Open Public Car Park' or an Unlocked Compound. Nothing 'private' about it unless you can physically stop anyone from entering.2

I'd say unlocked compound which covers that although none public car park it's not locked so anyone could access it.0

What's the difference between an unlocked compound and a open car park ?
I'd have to either go to the insurer directly and see if they have anything more precise or call them up and just ask when I come to insure0 -

Ok done some reading and a compound by definition is a an area which is full fenced all the way around , either with a gate or without one. So probably right in saying open public car park

Do as I suggested elsewhere. Try getting a quote direct from the insurers you get quotes from on the comparison sites and those not non them, like Direct Line. Phone them and ask the question.1

Remember this is asking where it's kept in the day. If you drive or education to work most days a week, then you put down where it's parked when you're at work/uni.The advice here suggests public car park. But seems like compound could also apply? But anyway this is something you might well need to approach individual insurers or a broker about for clarification. You don't want to risk giving an answer the insurer can later claim was untrue.
