Just looking at quotes and can't see which of these suits me ? I live in a block of flats and we have our own parking spaces.

Here are the options...

    Public car park.
Ok so not a driveway then ?
I'll have to phone up and clarify when it comes to getting insurance

It's not a private driveway, no.

Other people are parking their cars around it, so there is a much greater risk of you needing to claim for damage caused by somebody nudging it while parked and not owning up.

It is an open public car park.

Driveway can be higher than a car park or on street as anyone wanting to steal the car know which house the keys are in.

    Ok brilliant thanks guys
  • Is it a public car park if only the residents and their visitors can park there? I'm going for 'unlocked compound'.

If visitors can park there is a public place according to the Road Traffic Act.

Anyone can park there , however its only usually residents or visitors.
     The bays are numbered too
After some reading it will probably be a public car park

A compound would surely be like an industrial estate car park ?

Why they don't have an option for 'private/residents' car park' is beyond me.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
