There are dozens of these on Youtube:

I let the answerphone answer every single phone call if it's a withheld or unrecognised number. If it's important someone will leave a message - and i can pick it up half way through. 9 times out of 10 once the answerphone kicks in - the line goes dead.0

Problem solved. If it's urgent, friends and relatives will tell me so. Scammers don't bother.
Imagine your friends or relatives would do the same...

I find it really really annoying.1 -
If it’s annoying then blame the scammers as not answering the phone is unfortunately the best option for beating the scammers. And if you really want them to pick up the phone then make sure your ID is sent when you call so that they know who’s calling. I’d rather my friends and family don’t get scammed over any mild inconvenience caused to me when I call them.Retired at age 56 after having "light bulb moment" due to reading MSE and its forums. Have been converted to the "budget to zero" concept and use YNAB for all monthly budgeting and long term goals.1
