Depending on how the Service Charges, Rents etc.,. work, the OP could use such technical information to feed into any Leaseholder/Tenants Association type organisation to 'change the mind' of the Landlords/HA. Or at least get them into the 20's technology at some future date.Maybe the OP and other residents wanting Q have to get together to complain en masse rather than accept "No" ? There will be a cost for the system upgrade, of course.
I fully accept that a well-installed and maintained communal system would not want most $ky-trained technicians anywhere near it, especially if has fairly recent equipment. But the proper dSCR switches auto sense and only need $ky to set the box up in the subscriber dwelling(s).
BUT, in fact, we don't even know if the install already supports dSCR or not ... do we? Nor, in fact, if a single or twin satellite feed is in each dwelling - if single cable legacy style , I'd have thought most $ky+ and $ky+ HD users would be tearing their hair out with the limitation of same band/polarisation to both tuners?0
