Switched from BT to Plusnet for better Broadband deal, absolute nightmare

I decided to switch broadband provider from BT to Plusnet to save nearly £20 per month. Every penny that I can save at the moment helps. I have now had no WiFi for 13 days and counting! Switching was due to take place on 6th November, BT cut me off but no router from Plusnet arrived. After many calls the router arrived 10 says later but Openreach have failed to connect me. No one wants to take responsibility. I am given deadlines which are never met. 13 days of no WiFi is an inconvenience but for the first week my son was on self isolation so was unable to do his online GCSE work. I am also now on self isolation and have missed work meetings and training. Is this a common problem? If so why is switching encouraged?

Better in what way  just cheaper ??
Wifi is from the router its not your internet connection .
Responsibility is Plusnet , chase them .
No switching is easy for the vast majority .

Are you sure you have no internet  check signal at router do not use wifi to check .
  • I've tried to connect and it doesn't work, it's fibre if that makes a difference. Plusnet have emailed to say they've reported the issue to senior management at Open reach and I will be connected in the next 24/48 hours. I have been made these promises time and time again.

Yes well Open Reach and Covid .
  • Is the phone line working? Seems a big coincidence if the broadband stopped working around when it was due to switch.
