Letting Agent messed up the Notice to Quit to our tenant

    And some of the posts in this thread, are why 70% of s21 notices are invalid. 

    Many (most?) eviction proceedings are delayed for months and having to start all over again, because the s21 notice is invalid. It's absolutely par for the course for anyone involved with eviction proceedings. Anyone who disputes that has no idea what they are on about.

    I'd imagine the same in Scotland.

    In my experience, letting agents are usually even more entitled (many consider they have the right to barge into tenant's home, have surveys, valuations, visits by prospective tenants, do frequent inspections commenting on state of the place, forget to pay the landlord having got the rent from tenant, not bother with training or qualificatons).  Landlords can likewise be incredibly entitled.  MPs and ministers often - but not always - outstandingly arrogant, plus of course certain aristos or higher.

    Anyone can to name an occupation where some of the people are never ever entitled?

    For people who rent a house or flat, that is their home just as much as mine is, and they can live their lives as they wish while they are in possession of it.

    Then you’d be wrong. The OP is required to give 3 months notice to leave for the ground (s)he wants to use, not 6 as per the current Section 21 requirements in England & Wales, and the FTT has been granting eviction orders throughout COVID. The last one recorded on their website is from 12th November 2020.

    Not the case; in England virtually all flats are leasehold, and owners (and their tenants) are bound by the terms of their lease. Many prohibit pets. Ours prohibits drying washing on the balcony, having curtains/blinds lined in any colour but cream, amongst other terms....

    I disagree with that too, it’s excessively controlling of how others live.
