Hi, @savingholmes, no ominous reason, we've just decided to elope, save all of the hassle plus the main thing is we want to get married and didn't want to plan something which we then had to risk cancelling due to covid or travel disruptions. We are both so excited for next week, we are having all of the 'normal' wedding bits, private chef, cake, hair and make-up, top photographers etc. We are going to keep it quiet until we get back home and then let everyone know. At present just my parents and my daughter know.Mortgage (Nov 20- NOV 39) originally £130,999 (Interest only) NOW £102,732 (approx 78% equity)

Hi All
Phew today's a scorcher isn't it? My last day at work before our wedding! I've paid the final invoice from our private chef, a platter for 4 people, beautiful 3 course meal for us and a cake for £225, I think that's good. Just need to pack now and get ourselves there, we're so excited but it feels a little unreal as there is none of the last minute drama or hassle. Can't wait to announce our marriage when we get back next weekend.
We're getting a small shop tonight, make sure DD has all she needs for next week. I've been on a bit of a mission this week to use up bits and bobs from the fridge so we had pizzas with allsorts thrown on them, had no mozzerella so used ends of stilton and halloumi, they were surprisingly nice.
Plans for DDs 18th are falling in to place, tattoos booked, I'm going to ask our chef at work to make her her favourite carrot cake and get a topper etc for it. Just need to book the train tickets and spa, will do that this weekend.
So I'm signing off until after our wedding. Money Saving and Calorie Counting are suspended for the next week or so.
Have a great weekend

Hi All
Just a quick catch up.
Thank you @Jessy103 @savingholmes and @Cornish_mum for the good wishes. We had a fabulous time, the venue etc were all incredible, even better than we thought. Our chef produced some lovely food and an amazing cake, the weather was glorious and I even went for a couple of swims in the lake, we were in a happy little bubble for the whole 4 days and definitely did not want to come home on Friday. We rang family and friends on Friday before going public with a facebook post and have had so many lovely messages. We are waiting for the professional photos now which will be about 2 weeks. Back to work today but nothing is going to dampen my happy mood!
I'll catch up in full in a couple of days but need to crack on with work now.

Hi All
I can't believe a week ago today we were driving home from our wedding and planning how to make the announcement. We're still on a bit of a high and I'm sure are driving people mad with all of the wedding talk, my friends can't believe that I managed to keep it quiet!
It was payday yesterday so I need to update my signature after the payments are made. DDs 18th this month so another expensive one and I'm planning on trying to keep other shopping to a minimum. Now that we have received the marriage certificates I also need to send off to get my passport and driving licence updated and my name changed and then start advising everyone else and amend my will, more expense! I know my savings have taken a bit of a battering with the wedding etc so I'll be interested to see where I am now.
Is anyone else having issues with the British Gas app? I like to update my meter readings at the end of each month but for weeks now I keep getting a message that they are unable to display my meter readings and to try again later, very frustrating, especially in these times of high energy costs.
Will check back in and update all figures asap.
