Car bought with a windscreen chip

If it was professionally repaired then there should be some warranty with it meaning if it gets worse they'll replace the windscreen.

I think we all agree on the OP's way forward though.0 -

Age isn't proportional to the amount of stonechips, but it is proportional to the amount of margin the dealer has available to resolve such trivial issues, and to reasonable expectations for absolute perfection.0

Thank you for the valuable feedback. I checked on my insurer website, and if the chip is within 3cm of the edge, the screen will have to be replaced and not repaired. However, it passes MOT because it is not in the line of vision.
On another note, I just read- If you've just bought this vehicle the tax or SORN doesn't come with it. You'll need to tax it before driving it. Does this mean I have to tax again already taxed vehicle? The dealer told me its already taxed till next April.

The previous keeper gets a refund as of the date of keeper change.
If the car was with a dealer, it almost certainly wasn't taxed anyway. But it's possible he may have put 6mo tax on it for you as part of the deal. 6mo from now would indeed end in April.0 -
