help fitting/choosing a shower - what to do??

Dear all, I moved into a terrace house, split in two (converted two flats).

For a few months now I have given some serious thought about a shower. I get on quite well with my neighbour next door, and asked her about a shower. She said it would not be viaable as these terrace houses have no water pressure, and myself and the other flat main water suppy comes off the one feed (eg if she turns her water on, this affects my pressure, and vice versa). As you can imagine, i dropped the idea, until today.

The lady who has the other flat asked me to sit her home today, because she had gardeners in. i could not help noticing she had a fitted shower.

I now want one, but absolutly no idea how to go about it, anyone got any ideas??

Have you considered an electric shower?

It largely depends on your plumbing layout.

You obviously need to get hot and cold water pipes run for a normal shower and a shower enclosure.

With an electric shower you need some heavy duty wiring and a 40 amp RCB in your circuit breaker board.

To fit from scratch is quite a large and expensive undertaking.

The cheap solution is to get your bath fitted with a combined mixer tap and have a shower at one end of the bath - with a shower screen.

You need to talk to the lady who has the shower, and find out how she did it.

It may be she got the shower then found out every time you turn your tap on, of flush your loo her shower goes cold. She may have a shower, but she may not use it as it does not work the way she thought it would.

She may have baths, and sit there thinking "I paid a fortune for that shower but can't use it"
