PIP reapplying after tribunal

Hi, I was awarded PIP at tribunal, award runs until Feb 2021. I have reapplied but have a few questions.
1. If I am reassessed before my old award ends and my new award is lower would I need to pay them back the months in between applying and getting the new award?
2. If I decide to cancel this application can I reapply in Feb when my current award runs out? I know I will have a gap but I assume my next award will be lower than I got at tribunal and I don’t want to lose the last 3 months at a higher level. I also found out I need to have surgery in Dec so won’t be able to fill it all in and do a decent job of it until after Christmas.
Thanks

Thanks1/ Sometimes, it works out that there maybe a very small overpayment, it depends on payment dates and when the actual decision is made but you won't have to pay all of it back.2/ If you've received more forms to fill in and you don't return them by the date stated in the letter then your PIP will end, even if it's before the date of your award.3/ Yes you can re-apply at anytime.Do be aware that lots of none urgent surgeries are being cancelled because of Covid.1 -
Thanks for the reply. So if I don’t finish this application they will end my award even though it should carry on until Feb?? I can’t “cancel” the application. Is that what you mean???

If you have the forms there then yes that's correct. You need to return them otherwise your PIP will end by the date stated in the letter.

If you think about it, the end date is only 3 1/2 months away, even less by the time you return the form. It's not just a case of filling in the form and them reading it and making the decision, they have to get to your case then pass it on to the assessment provider who then have to assess you and send it back to the DWP who then have to get to it again to make the decision ... not a quick process, as I'm sure you already know from when you previously claimed.2 -
Thanks everyone I’m calling for an extension if I can ever get through!0

They will give you an extra 14 days to return the form but you need to make sure you return it with plenty of time for it to reach them. Mail going to DWP has to go through the same mail sorting process as mail coming from their and it can take up 10 working days for it to be added to the computer and it's not classed as arriving until this time. Next day special delivery makes no difference here and is a waste of money. Proof of posting is all that's needed, which is free from any post office.

if I’m supposed to allow two weeks for it to arrive and it takes two weeks to get here that’s precisely no time to fill it in! I tried to call again today and gave up after an hour, will try again tomorrow0

I didn't say it took 2 weeks. I said up to 10 days. Ringing first thing in the morning when they open is often the best time to ring.

All my letters from DWP so far have taken 7 days to arrive to me from the date on the letter.
(I sent my claim form 2nd Signed For so I had peace of mind that it had arrived in their mail centre regardless of how slow they would be uploading it onto the system. It turned out to be quick but that was during the first wave when apparently fewer people were claiming, and our own post was never particularly disrupted. To be honest you can only do your best.)
Edit: just for clarity, what exactly do you mean by reapplying? I for some reason thought you meant you'd received the form for a review, but now I'm doubting my understanding of your posts.1 -

When awarded by a Tribunal it's not review forms you receive. You receive a letter asking you to reapply if you want to continue to receive the benefit. Once you ring to start the claim off they then send you the PIP2 forms.
