it seems most insurance Cos will void your insurance if you have EVER had a ccj , this does not take into account setasides , the wording is EVER

i think its time the likes of cel or DCBL were given a taste , , potential costs involved thru not having house insurance or ability to earn a living by having insurance denied

a few like this might lower default rates

Can you provide evidence of this please.....where it says insurance would be voided due to a CCJ
I dont personally believe this to be true and would be an unfair term.
  • it is in terms and conditions of many insurance cos , it came up as I was getting motorcycle quote today , you had to tick box stating you had never been declared bancrupt

I have just been back using different ip and details , ticked the boc to state i have been bancrupt orf had ccj  , the policy was declined , no asking afe or details , just declined

this is one of UK largest motorcycle brokers , C nashe

  • if you were to ring up and inform them of hidden default they woujld either cancel or set special terms , both of those would affect any future insurance quotes

    You have mis read
It is to do with not declaring material facts at the time of inception,  not that fact you have a ccj.  Of course they can decline anyone who has been made bankrupt as they so wish.
  • ok they are not differenciating between declared bancrupt and ccj
and they ARE declining , not might decline
i suspect they (hidden away in terms) will state that if you get ccj or are declared bancrupt during insurance period you should inform them immediatly ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, at which point they will cancel your policy
  • If you get a set aside granted, you have never had a ccj.
  • ahh , but you DID get a ccj , the fact its been setaside is like 6 yrs , you have HAD a ccj

its a funny area , limitations act /rehabilitation of offenders dont count coz its not criminal , if one incurance co gets a sniff before 6 yrs they can legally pass to other insurance Co s for life , bit like a big tattoo on your forhead

A ccj (especially a discharged payment one) is not a reason to refuse insurance. It could be a reason to refuse a line of credit (monthly instalments).

A statement of the obvious really - ccjs make life a bit more difficult with finances and related products. But that is one brokers online form. Plenty of brokers will find you cover if you call them. It's not even an insurance refusal, as its unclear the details have ever been provided to the insurers. It's an algorithm.

No you didn't. No ccj has ever been in place. That's what a set aside does. It unwinds history.
