Thank you saving, its worth a try isn't it.  The new ones are about £750 (or £30/mth including mins and data) and I'm not ready to spend that on a phone at this moment in time, not until I win more on the lottery than £3.50 anyway

I am hoping to nurse my phone along for a year or so when it comes out of contract around April / May. Should save me around £20 a month - which sadly I'll probably need to redirect to energy. Still it all helps.

  • Mine is okay.  Its not like a new phone because its half full and presumably has all sorts of cookies and the like on it.  But its much better and is perfectly serviceable.  Trouble is when I was in the shop getting my battery done I was playing with one of the new ones - its very tempting.  But I'm definitely not tempted enough for £700

Don't I just know it @savingholmes  It was so lovely to hold that shiny new phone in my hand - I could almost feel that thrill you get when you buy something new (but probably shouldn't).  These days I have better uses for my money, but its quite easy to remember why I was on the debt-free wannabe thread for a few years.  Maybe one day if the PBs or the lottery come in I might get one

  • Phones are tempting. I rely on mine for like everything!  But the cost is so off putting.

Me too @debtfreeoneday.  Just to leave it at the menders for an hour was strange.  There was an offer at Hotel Chocolate and as I walked by the shop I thought shall I pop in but then realised it was an offer on my phone, which was at the menders.  I will buy a new one when the time comes, but the time hasn't come yet.  Besides, MrShores has his old one still as a spare.
