Set up the printer to print wireless via Access mode, that way it sets up it's own wireless network and you don't require the router for it.1

1. router issue (especially BT routers) - restart usually fixes, or
2. multiple wifi networks (switch off any wifi boosters or mesh stuff UNLESS latter is the only wifi network.)
3. printer is not new - do a factory reset.

I use the Canon InkJet Network tool (Win10-64bit) for my Canon Pixma ip7250 printer and I found it invaluable when I set the printer up. It’s only just over a year since I downloaded the ‘Network Tool’ but it appears they’ve now withdrawn support for the ‘Network Tool’ for my printer,...and indeed yours.
There doesn’t seem to be an online alternative either.

I was trying to print a page from Google maps, so had to load the page, then disconnect internet/connect printer to get it to print, which was a bit complex when it just used to work seamlessly on the old PC!Thoughts?
