Printing disconnects internet

Set up the printer to print wireless via Access mode, that way it sets up it's own wireless network and you don't require the router for it.1

Thanks - how do I set about doing this .... ?

How did you get on with this? I hate printers but 9x out of 10 its eitherneilmcl said:Set up the printer to print wireless via Access mode
1. router issue (especially BT routers) - restart usually fixes, or
2. multiple wifi networks (switch off any wifi boosters or mesh stuff UNLESS latter is the only wifi network.)
3. printer is not new - do a factory reset.

I use the Canon InkJet Network tool (Win10-64bit) for my Canon Pixma ip7250 printer and I found it invaluable when I set the printer up. It’s only just over a year since I downloaded the ‘Network Tool’ but it appears they’ve now withdrawn support for the ‘Network Tool’ for my printer,...and indeed yours.
There doesn’t seem to be an online alternative either.

Follow the instructions in the user manual.J_B said:Thanks - how do I set about doing this .... ?Downloaded the user manual, it's only 1004 pages
I've set it up as <<connection without using wireless router (Windows XP) >> and I have connected my PC to the printer successfully but sadly, it disconnects the internet. I was trying to print a page from Google maps, so had to load the page, then disconnect internet/connect printer to get it to print, which was a bit complex when it just used to work seamlessly on the old PC!Thoughts?

Just as well you cannot print then :-) You have found the down-side of Access mode.J_B said:Downloaded the user manual, it's only 1004 pages
