Thanks for the tip, but I can’t see the option for this anywhere in the app?Shakin_Steve said:
You should have just used an activation code from your existing app.Zellah said:OP, i managed to setup the Barclaycard app on my new iPhone 12 Mini on Friday without any dramas. This wasn't a "migration" - it was a second iphone i wanted to use the Barclaycard app on. However you have to go through many many steps such as SMS verification and crucially, Pin Sentry verification as well using your debit or credit card. Since i have a credit card from Barclays and no physical card reader from them, I just used my Nationwide card reader instead.

Nope, not available on the Barclaycard app on my iPhone 12 Pro or 12 Mini (running latest iOS and app). But I only have a credit card with Barclays, not a bank account so it *may* be that you need to have a bank account with them in order to get that option:Shakin_Steve said:

OP, being bored on a Sunday, I decided to delete the Barclaycard app on my iPhone 12 Pro and re-install and re-register my Barclaycard Rewards card and I managed to do this again. It took less than 5 mins. I used my Nationwide card reader for the Pin Sentry option:

I'm with @Zellah on this one - I only have a Barclaycard, use the Barclaycard app (on an Android phone) and don't see an option to generate a code to use the app on another device.Zellah said:

I also agree with @Zellah - I think it's the full Barclays mobile banking app which has that feature. The Barclaycard app doesn't seem to have it. Not sure whether people who only hold a Barclaycard can register for the full mobile banking app, but you can manage your Barclaycard through that app. I might be mistaken but I seem to dimly remember some recent communication from Barclaycard saying they would merge with the full mobile banking app but I didn't pay any attention since I have got the full mobile banking app already.northwalesd said:

I use the Barclaycard app but have a current account too. Wife has both card and account but uses the Barclays app. Both are exactly the same for us. I remember the email, too, saying that there was no point having both apps because they would serve the same purpose. My son has a student account with Barclays and, a couple of months ago, we put the app on his phone as he only had it on his iPad. Worked perfectly with the activation code, so.....I don't know why some can and some can't.I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.0

Therefore it seems the activation code option is only available to those who at least hold a Barclays current account, regardless of whether you're using the Barclaycard or Barclays Bank app. Others, like myself, who only have a Barclaycard, don't get the option of activation codes. Anyway as my earlier post, its not a big deal having to re-register in the app, providing you have a physical card reader to hand. Otherwise you need to verify youself using photo ID within the app though I've not tried this option myself.Shakin_Steve said:I use the Barclaycard app but have a current account too.
