Do not assume that they have one person assigned to your case , only your case , and nothing but your case
I haven't seen any dcb legal , b w legal or any other legal with an intimate knowledge of one case , on here
If you assume that you are dealing with morons out of their depth , it would help
I just thought it was strange that they'd respond at all at this stage; though I am half expecting the 'reduced payment' offer sometime soon!2 -
As it's been a while, I though I'd give a brief update on where I'm at:
Back in May, a few weeks after my WS was submitted, I received a court order with notice of a one hour telephone hearing in mid-August. The order gave me only one instruction: to provide contact details three days prior to the hearing date. The claimant/DCBL has been asked to pay a £25 trial fee and send one paginated bundle containing both parties documents seven days before the hearing.
I checked with the court today and the claimant has paid the £25 fee (yesterday, the deadline day). Does this mean that, in people's experience, that it's likely that this hearing will take place? Obviously there is still plenty of time for them to pull out, but in my mind it would make more sense to do that before paying; I suppose that depends on whether they follow the sunken costs fallacy.

It's brinkmanship - see who blinks first.
If you get a settlement offer close the the hearing then it's highly likely that they're about to discontinue.Jenni x5 -
PPL's recent record is to discontinue a couple of weeks before the hearing date, particularly where the defendant has jumped through all the hoops and put together a decent Defence/WS, so perhaps a bit early for that to occur in your case. There are a number of cases reported on the forum of this happening, but whether it was pre or post payment of the filing fee, I don't know. Have a read of a few of them to see if there is any mention within them. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Wait and see if DCBLegal file and serve a full joint bundle in time. If they don’t, email the court and DCBLegal, forwarding your email from before, to prove your WS went in at the right time.Provide your phone number on a separate email ONLY to the court, unless DCBLegal have the job of arranging the hearing in which case you sometimes have no choice but to give them your phone number.PRIVATE 'PCN'? Thanks for the tips, @Coupon-mad.
I've already marked the date that the bundle is due, so I can go through it and make sure they've not altered or omitted anything.
As for contact details, I have only been asked to provide these to the court.2 -
Court bundle received from DCB Legal today, so it looks like this could go all the way. Thankfully, they sent it earlier than I expected, so I've got extra time to check it over and prepare, prepare, prepare!1

Now there is an important task to do in August:
The final Government Consultation into the level of parking charges, discounts, false ‘debt recovery add-ons’ (that no PPC actually pays)...
...and the Appeals Charter - that should IMHO result in full cancellations not enrich the PPCs by £20 or more because it would just encourage spurious PCNs that should never be issued...
... is now open!
See separate thread:https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6286801/government-consultation-re-level-of-private-parking-charges-now-open
This forum’s regulars are encouraging email submissions with evidence and photos, letters attached to illustrate what happened to you and why you are answering the way you are.
Please tell your family and friends to encourage colleagues who have had these spurious PCNs and claims to email their evidence to the MHCLG as shown in the Consultation and not just do the tick boxes. The Government want evidence - victims must give it to them.
DON’T MISS IT.
The proposal to actually ALLOW debt recovery enhancements that the PPCs don't actually pay will drive MILLIONS of old and new cases to court and is naive and breaks existing law (the POFA).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

This is the same PPC as the disappearing pound coins. Put six pounds in, ticket states that you have paid £5.00 but issues a ticket for £3.00 (no change). WW backed off that one.
