A big problem with this is thread bumping every time there's a new comment, no matter how you sort the threads you can't go through them methodically starting at one end to the last page because things you haven't got to yet will move behind you as a new comment is added.Β
Select 'new' from the drop down sort menu

Makes no difference, web development was my job and I know how to use a forum, but whoever did this has no idea that usability is number one in a forum, the way this one jumps to the last post in each thread may seem clever to them but it's not useful in a forum at all apart from reordering the threads it skips what could be useful posts. EG. I enter a comp on a thread, find it's a scam, post that info to warn others, some will reply, the next visitors won't see any of that or know it's there as they'll just see the last post, not the warning, and they'll have no reason to goo back to see it.Β
That thanks button might be helpful if it changed colour when clicked, but it doesn't.Β
I've got to page 6 of threads today, ordered as you suggest, and I've had one or two comps appear over and over and there are many I haven't seen at all because a new post in that thread moved them up past where I got to. This forum needs to be a simple list of threads, ordered by date posted or new threads, not posts. It's neither.Β

Another problem, not only on advents but main board too, threads follow you through several pages, not a few and not different ones, the same ones are on three or four pages in with other new ones. On the main board it's annoying but as you only enter each once it's nowhere near as bad as the advents where along with it's other problems it makes it near unusable. When you leave a page of threads you shouldn't meet those same threads again on the next pages.Β

How rude. It's fine on my iPadΒ

Not rude, true. Barely anything works on here now. Threads repeat page after page or don't show at all, then show if you repeat the same action a few times, other times the same thread appears more than once on the same page and isn't a dupe. It's a mess and someone was paid to make it, from a forum that worked perfectly well for years. Not only that, but they've had a very long time to fix it and they haven't come close. If they don't like criticism maybe doing their job or at least appearing to would help them avoid it.Β
As for it being fine on your iPad, IF indeed it is, that's a screenshot of my screen...and it's not OK on that, also this forum was never built of edited on an iPad so why didn't they see that? Web design basic , check your work in different browsers and for different screens. Not done here.Β

  • I have bookmarked all the ones I want to enter and had been getting emails when someone added a new comment, but for some reason the emails stopped yesterday. Is it something I've done or is there an issue I'm not aware of?
Any help would be appreciated as I do find going through all of the entries on the forum more time consuming.Β
    Thanks in advance 😊

Assume you're using gmail, as there's been problems with notifications not arriving.
    There's a thread for it:Β https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6224691/bookmarked-threads-not-getting-notifications#latest
