It's a bit ironic as time is probably less valuable to a pensioner than most of the working population.

It is so precious, you can't put a value on it.

When I was toiling incessantly, I could count to a hundred in between each tick of the second hand of my watch, now the time is my own, I can barely focus on the hour hand, as it is moving so fast!
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

(except air quality and Medical Science ;))

    Less valuable, maybe.
    More precious, definitely.

Hope it was an essential journey.
And that it actually required 2 adults to perform

2 pensioners left in a layby on a duel carriageway for 5 and a half hours after 9 phone calls, being told twice they were coming within 20 mins, call out escalated to critical 3 times only to find when they eventually arrived that the recovery man was only notified 10 minutes ago!!!!   None of this is in dispute.  I wrote asking for compensation and the offer is that they would add 3 months free cover to my next renewal!   This is not acceptable as there is no way I'm going to renew with them every again.  Am I wrong to ask for a cash compensation and if so, how do I get it please?
You will probably find that the best you will achieve is the refund of your years payments. Cannot see them agreeing to anything more without a big fight. AA ? RAC ? Green flag ?

Who said it was in lockdown?

    Who said it wasn’t

it it was meant to be a subtle topical humorous comment - obviously a touch too subtle

If it was today, Wales has already left lockdown.

We have, but we are still being asked to consider whether our journeys are essential.
  • I had an RAC guy spend hours on my car once, clutch pedal stuck down.  I was expecting a tow home but no he tried fixing
it and even took me to get a part. He kept resetting something in his van that starting beeping every so often, assume new
calls.  He failed to fix it so towed home anyway.

That "thing" he kept resetting would of been his lone working alarm , if he hadn't reset it the control centre would know something was wrong and got help to him

I have the same thing at work , if I don't reset it every 15 mins somebody comes checking that I'm alright
  • I was left for 4 hours by the RAC on a CD December morning with 3 children, I phoned numerous times and was repeatedly told they were close by. I arranged for my Mum to collect the children so they were taken care of and warm.
In the end a passerby in a tow truck stopped and helped us out having seen me a few hours previous.
I phoned to cancel the call out and was offered £30 without having to ask, but can't see anyone really needing to offer more, it's not compensation as there hasn't been any loss, just a gesture of goodwill
