Putting houses up for sale before you've found a house yourself

We've sold up, we've exchanged and complete on the 24th. We haven't found anywhere... but we've been converting a truck to live in and travel about in, then when we find our perfect spot, we will buy then. I realise it's not practical for everyone (and people do think we're bonkers!) but we can't wait.0

The EA we used for our sale refused to let anyone see the our property who weren’t in a proceed-able position - I didn’t know this until 3 weeks in when I asked how the enquiries were going. They said we have 2 or 3 a day but the majority were people who weren’t even on the market yet.
The next day we had a buyer who had already sold.
I thinks it’s a good practice as it meant we weren’t cleaning every evening!30th June 2021 completely debt free…. Downsized, reduced working hours and living the dream.0 -

You need to reread the thread.Catsacor said:Wow, i'd be livid if i encountered a buyer with this blase approach.
I think it highly unacceptable to go into it with that in mind, letting people down in this business deal is abhorrent and sellers will be extremely choosy with their buyers if this mindset is present.
It's not us that has the blase attitude to letting people down (beit buyers or sellers!).
It seems most others have though.
Hence one of the reasons we haven't listed.0 -
Really good point!Bad_Accountant said:If getting the right house is overwhelmingly important, would you consider selling first, and moving into rented while you look?30th June 2021 completely debt free…. Downsized, reduced working hours and living the dream.0
