No i mean actual live streams of for me a Rugby match .Live as in actual kick off time , not a replay and not highlights .

1st Nov  Eng  v Italy ladies six nations from Parma  last one i watched live on you tube .
    14th Nov

    Kick-off 1415hrs

    Live-stream: YouTube, Twitter & AP15s website.
Depends on who the broadcaster is/where they are.

    - If the broadcaster is not a linear TV channel (say it's a newspaper or sports organisation) then no Licence is required.

    - If the broadcaster is a linear TV channel in the UK, and the coverage is simultaneous with their linear TV channel, then a Licence is definitely required.

    - Any other scenario is a grey area.

I disagree with Neil.  He may be technically correct, but proving it will be impossible.  Unless you modify the TV so it's incapable of receiving broadcast channels, you need to get a TV licence.
Proof to back this up from official site?

Posters saying unplug receivers, why i dont know.  You are on this site = you are connected to the internet = meaning you can still watch live TV.  It's how I watch TV.

There won't be any.   It isn't true.

The Licence is required to watch/record scheduled TV channels or use BBC iPlayer for BBC TV content.    There is no need to modify the TV, although detuning Freeview channels and unplugging the aerial/satellite cable is a good idea.

If TV Licensing call, they will ask questions, which you can decline to answer.   They don't generally examine equipment on these routine visits and you could decline anyway.
