I'd try to get them to default it when you went into a DMP as a first step.bunny73 said:
I thought that the national debt charity were giving me the best advice. Seems now that there was always more to it. Four month wait for ombudsman to review and not optimistic, should I opt to pay landmark directly?sourcrates said:Nothing untoward at all, that`s the system we have unfortunatly, stepchange like you to start repaying your debts as quickly as possible, and that dosen`t always go in your favour, on MSE we try to show you a path to take which avoids negative information staying on your credit file too long, stepchange won`t tell you this. You should go down the written complaint route first, see if that helps at all.1 -
Yes, last question, sorry...do you mean through the FO or do I contact them now myself?Yahoo_Mail said:

Further to the help given above, I have now received a reply from Landmark who have agreed to apply a default in 2013. Does this in any way improve things for me? Short version: in Dmp since 2013, no default applied on unsecured part of northern rock together mortgage. Credit report has 13 missed payment markers since 2015 despite me making all payments under arrangement. Does the default having now been applied have any bearing on the way the payments I’m making are being recorded? Can anyone direct me to relevant legislation? Many thanks again folks.0

If they are backdating the default to 2013 then the account will drop off your credit file although the debt will still be owed. Once your credit file is updated you will have some options to get cheaper credit and hopefully sort your finances out - they can take up to 2 months to update file.Mama read so much about the dangers of drinking alcohol and eating chocolate that she immediately gave up reading.1

Thank you for your reply! What about the late/missed payments markers, will they disappear now too? I haven’t missed payments but had 5 missed markers last year alone.gizmo111 said:If they are backdating the default to 2013 then the account will drop off your credit file although the debt will still be owed. This is equifax, the AP means that an agreement is in place at the time. The red marks this as arrears. Looking at you screenshot, this means that the 6 monthly agreements keep running out? Write to the creditor and get them to change that?bunny73 said:Why does it change from AP to 6 months markers though, that’s the bit I don’t understand? And in that pattern? Does anyone know and could explain? Thanks again.1 -
They said they would in June but it didn’t happen. Gone to Ombudsman now. It is a yearly agreement with step change but they are saying I am breaking the agreement because they are not receiving payments, even when step change have sent them in time. Complained again in October and got a final response today that they are entitled to record this because they hadn’t received the payment. I just don’t believe them now. It left step change on the 5th and they phoned me on the 12th to say I had broken the agreement because the payment hadn’t arrived.
