Gambling Applepay Withdraw Funds

Hi I was gambling using Coral using applepay as it was a source for debiting into my account when it prompted you to put money in your account. I placed a few deposits into my account this way and when I broke even I tried to withdraw back to my applepay account and it wouldn’t let me. I went on live chat and was told that I need to register a debit card and further deposit in order for me to withdraw my funds I don’t physically hold a debit card for this simple reason on gambling. I have looked their website and it does not state when depositing using applepay you also need a debit card so their happy to take money from you but not give it back in this way even though the funds need to go back to the original method of depositing. I have checked another betting providers site and it clearly states that you cannot withdraw via applepay but this was not the case with coral I only found out once I was on live chat. I ended up giving them all the money back and ended up with nothing when I clearly tried to walk away more than once but it failed due to not being able to withdraw with applepay even though other companies allow this. I have contacted them and they have no recollection of me trying to withdraw. I have said to them they must be able to see this somehow on their system. I have been told that it was my choice to gamble and they have blocked my account. At no point when I deposited with applepay I was promoted to withdraw the same money I needed a card registered. It does not clearly state this on their site it only states that withdrawl methods. If I had knew I couldn’t even get my initial deposits back never mind winnings through applepay I would have stayed well clear. Coral have a lot to answer for regards to responsible gaming and not allowing you to easily walk away to the extent that you end up just giving in and losing. Can anyone advise me as Coral have basically said I’m a big boy and I chose to do what I did.

What sort of card do you have registered with Apple pay?
If it is a Credit Card. They are now blocked from making gambling payments to stop people gambling with funds they do nto have.Life in the slow lane5 -
I'm not hugely familiar with this, but what method were you using to fund ApplePay? I only use mine as a means to pay with my phone or watch, so it just uses my credit or debit card and takes money from there. If it DID let you withdraw to ApplePay, where would the money end up? I'm not aware of there being a way to hold balances in ApplePay, so where would they be putting your winnings?2

As above you must have either a credit or debit card to be able to use Apple Pay. If it is a credit card you can't withdraw to it but in that instance you shouldn't be able to deposit, which makes me think you have a debit card?2

Yes I have a debit card registered on my iPhone to use like a card. I do not physically have the card as I destroyed it to stop my from registering it with gambling sites hence the reason for using applepay. I was not aware that it could not be used as to return funds just like a debit card would and it’s not clear or stated on their site or when you deposit with applepay.0

As an aside you have said you destroyed the debit card to stop you from using it on gambling sites, which suggests you are aware it could lead to lots of money being lost. Is it worth seeking help?4 -
Yes I’m aware and still have limits on my account but when you return anything that you’ve paid with applepay to a store for instance the balance is just returned back to your applepay registered card. The point is that I was not made aware of this on the website or on depositing.Thanks0

Perhaps you need some help as it looks like you have a issue with Gambling.
TBH. They should only be refunding back to the source of funds, in this case applepay. Not expecting you to register a debit card, deposit funds and then withdraw.
I bet if you try to withdraw more then you deposited via the debit card they will block it due to ML regulations.

Seems clear enough that you can deposit but not withdraw to Apple Pay.
Deposit methods here https://help.coral.co.uk/en/general-information/payments/deposit-methods/depositmethods
Withdrawal methods here https://help.coral.co.uk/en/general-information/payments/withdrawal-methods
It also states "To withdraw funds successfully, you will need to use a payment method that was already used to deposit."
So yes you need to deposit using one of those to be able to withdraw.
But if you are using a debit card for Apple Pay you need to keep the matching physical card anyway. It is not good to get rid of the card as Apple Pay doesn't always work and you bank may need the card for other approvals.
It sounds like you need to seek other help with your gambling https://www.nhs.uk/live-well/healthy-body/gambling-addiction/

You could have walked into any branch of Coral and got your winnings in cash, if you have 10 debit cards or 0. Did you not realise this was an option?
Obviously this only applies when the shops are open.0
