"Superior" apparently, assuming this is the same irrespective of watch model:

Ooh, I just need to get to 41.1, I think?
I wonder how hard that extra 1.1 will be to achieve.... probably very!! 😉How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)0 -
I seem to need another 1.9.
But, we can't see increments other than whole numbers on the phone / app, so could be nearer or further than we think.
Agree, it will be hard to get there - I am not really sure what metrics are used and which metrics have the strongest weighting in the VO2 Max calculation.

Another article explaining VO2 Max:

These try to explain how VO2 max is calculated:

Given my screen shot for VO2 Max and Fitness Age that I shared a little up thread, I particularly like the content in the very first article linked here (what's a good VO2 max for me?):
"As humans our peak fitness potential is usually around the age of 20."
That also explains why I can't become a teenager again. I actually don't think I was as fit as a 20-year old when I was 20, so it's great to have got there now!1 -
Ha, you beat me to links.
I've been reading up on it this afternoon too 😉
I think it boils down to how hard you have to work at a given pace relative to your resting/max heart rate ...or something 😉
Anyway, one negative factor could be warmer weather....so we can look forward to improved figures come the autumn 😎🏅
Interestingly, a sudden drop in VO2 performance can be a warning of an infection or onset of illness, as your body has to work harder than usual.
So a useful tool to keep an eye on, along with resting heart rate. How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)0 -
I am happy with my resting heart rate, currently 53, average over past 12 months 56. I think they are good figures.
I was interested to see your recovery, though as you linked in the other thread:
You have done exercise and then recovered to a fairly low and regular heart rate quite quickly.Sea_Shell said:
On the other hand, I did some exercise this morning, but my "day graph" is an entirely different profile:
Now, I am "restless" and not very good at sitting still even if doing "nothing", but I wonder whether the quicker recovery time is better?
If so, is that a trainable metric?

All this looking at data today and I only just noticed that today is 500th day of achieving the step goal streak1

I'll look into the HRR perimeters later...
In the meantime, my watch recommend a base run this morning. Steady "easy" pace (11:30m/mi) for 1 hour.
At the end of which it told me I've hit "superior" 🏅🏅

Is your step goal 10,000 a day?
If so, that's excellent. 🏆
My non running days aren't active enough, by far, to achieve that, as it's about 5 miles a day! How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)0 -

Yes, steps goal 10k per day.
I like the idea of an easy run making me fitter but 11.5 miles / hour is 18.5 kph. Not easy by any means.
EDIT: - hang on, is that what you meant? Or did you mean 7 minutes per km? 8.5 km/hour?
I don't think my watch ever suggests what I should do.0
