Fed up with Amazon deliveries

An option is to buy a secure parcel delivery box. I don't like the look of them, personally, but it is an option that can be considered. I am not able to say whether the delivery driver would actually use the box if it was there.
If you have a porch, there are smart locks available so that when you get the notification from your smart doorbell, then you can speak to the delivery driver and open the door from your smart phone allowing the items to be left inside and then the delivery driver closed the door securely afterwards. I would not do this without a front porch, but I prefer the idea to the parcel box. Obviously, won't work if they do not even ring the door bell.0 -
Unfortunately, I've had this problem for many years, not just because of the pandemic. Perhaps delivery drivers are now using corona virus as a good excuse for just dumping parcels even tho they've always done this. I don't blame them either if they don't want to come face to face with anyone but that doesn't excuse them leaving it on a front doorstep on a busy road for everyone to see!!
I have to say tho that our local DPD driver is amazing, he's very helpful and won't ever just leave a parcel in an unsecure location.
Perhaps ebay click and collect at Argos would be better for me!!0 -

I'll cancel prime and try to shop elsewhere!
The problem with amazon deliveries is that they can come from anywhere. If it's amazon prime, amazon send them. Or it could be from marketplace sellers, who use any courier service or even Royal Mail, so it's not just one company or one delivery driver. And if you buy from a marketplace seller, it's not even amazon prime.
Most couriers send information about where your parcel is and ask where you want it leaving, certainly Hermes and DPD do, I've had deliveries from both. Often they send emails AND texts telling me exactly where my parcel is and asking where I want it leaving.
You could always stick a large notice on your door asking all delivery staff to take parcels to your neighbour.
But it's a gamble about who exactly delivers what where because it could be anybody and any company.
Plus, as others have said, with coronavirus - and now a stricter lockdown - drivers who deliver for all companies, not just amazon, are not waiting for responses once they knock or ring, and I don't blame them.

Is Jeff still richest, even after his divorce?0

If you are going to be at work why continue getting the stuff delivered? Why not change the delivery address to your poor neighbour? Also Amazon have to deliver to your exact address the machine will not allow them to deliver to a random address.0

Why would I change delivery address to my 'poor' neighbour?? Strange thing to say, poor neighbour!?
Like I've said, I don't work on Thursdays so I would have been in for the delivery.
In response to delivering to a random address, nothing random about it. Amazon give you delivery options and I've put my neighbour down in case I'm not in where they have delivered to on occasions0 -

"Contactless deliveries" are not an excuse for drivers to make more money by leaving parcels in insecure areas rather than waiting for people to answer the door.

What difference does lockdown make? Or Coronavirus? It doesn't (or shouldn't) mean that it's now acceptable to leave previously signed for items on doorsteps. There's nothing stopping them retreating to a safe distance to wait to see if you're actually in and if not, pop it back in the van as they would have done pre-Coronavirus. Almost all (in my experience at least) do exactly that.

I have to admit it seems to be Amazon delivery drivers that are the worse for this, most I've had are OK and will generally wait until you answered the door to confirm who you are but there have been occasions, the most recent one being the case where the driver was in his van ready to go before I got to the door, and that was seconds after they'd knocked on. I appreciate they are very busy in these times but there's no excuse for this.0

Part of the reason Amazon is so cheap is because they expect their staff to work hard for low money. Most drivers have to make a lot of deliveries in a short space of time just to earn minimum wage.
If you want better service shop somewhere else, but you might pay more for it.0
