Fed up with Amazon deliveries

I am so fed up with Amazon deliveries.
Deliveries are constantly being left on my doorstep and then the delivery info says parcel handed to resident.
A delivery came today and I saw on my ring doorbell the driver throwing the parcel on the doorstep, not even ringing the bell and walking away, I was at work, lucky the parcel was there when I got home but the box was wet because it was raining!!
I have delivery instructions on Amazon saying
Please do not leave on the doorstep and deliver to neighbor at no ...
Another delivery from an Amazon market seller was apparently delivered yesterday and the delivery info says left in or around the front door . . WHY do they do this.
The problem with this order is that nothing has been left, the parcel wasn't left at my house, there were no ring video notifications and no parcel.
I've emailed the seller, waiting for a reply.
This has happened so many times and I've emailed and spoken to Amazon on many occasions.
Is there any way I can escalate this.
I buy a lot on Amazon and where possible have the deliveries sent to Amazon lockers or click and collect locations. Unfortunately, some orders won't allow this so they have to be sent to my home.
How do I stop deliveries being left on my doorstep??
Thanks for any help

Shop elsewhere if they're not providing the service you need. Or only buy items where you can use the lockers or collect locations.3

Doorstep deliveries is how things have been operating throughout this pandemic. If you know you're not going to be in and can't use a locker or collection service then don't order from Amazon.0

Yes, I guess that's the sensible thing to do but most of the time Amazon is cheaper and sometimes they sell things I can't seem to find elsewhere.
I have considered closing my account. Can anyone tell me if closing my account would affect us using 'Alexa'?0 -
Why close the account? Simply stop shopping there.
Or are you meaning not renewing Prime? (That's different to closing your Amazon account). Stopping Prime will only impact the parts of Alexa that depend on Prime (e.g. Prime Music).2 -

Yes I did mean closing my account. I guess it's my way of showing them my dissatisfaction. Even tho I spend a lot of money on Amazon they probably wouldn't even miss me. I'm probably cutting off my nose to spite my face!!
I'll cancel prime and try to shop elsewhere!1 -

I don't think you leaving would make a dent on Jeff Bezos' $190bn fortune, but shopping elsewhere would certainly help all your struggling local shops and suppliers.0 -

If you know you're not going to be in and can't use a locker or collection service then don't order from Amazon.Unfortunatly this is the reason. And it's not an amazon thing it's an all delivery companies thing. The amazon deliverer is breaking the terms as amazon require them to only say handed to if handed to. However (op) it is becuase of your preferences to deliver elsewhere. Was it an amazon logisticvs delivery or a random deliverer. You should give amazon feedback but there is no more they can do. It will be a mark against the deliverer though. It is sad that currently deliverers just abandon on the doorstep and assume you are in. Before all this they may have wondered though the gate to the back where there is a cusion store box they could put the parcel in. Or at least left it at the back door where it could not be seen. I don't have issues myself as I am usually home. But when I do go to the shop I often find things left on the doorstep. I think they assume the fact 1 car is on the drive means someone is home. They are however meant to check. It is however a further problem of the fact that these people are not reasonably paid. Just per parcel and nothing more for another delivery. Unfortunatly no company offers a better option beyond going royal mail special delivery.Until we are all willing to pay enough for the product and decent delivery nothing will change. Not enough people wil boycott so no help for anyone doing such. Just use what you know about the delivery and make the best of it. Let google track you on your phone in case there is ever a dispute if something abandoned goes missing. Shedule deliveries for when you are in, amazon do weekends. Tell deliverers a good place to leave items (box out back not dealing with other people), though not helpful with amazon as they only offer a drop down of location and no free text.1

The problem with amazon deliveries is that they can come from anywhere. If it's amazon prime, amazon send them. Or it could be from marketplace sellers, who use any courier service or even Royal Mail, so it's not just one company or one delivery driver. And if you buy from a marketplace seller, it's not even amazon prime.
Most couriers send information about where your parcel is and ask where you want it leaving, certainly Hermes and DPD do, I've had deliveries from both. Often they send emails AND texts telling me exactly where my parcel is and asking where I want it leaving.
You could always stick a large notice on your door asking all delivery staff to take parcels to your neighbour.
But it's a gamble about who exactly delivers what where because it could be anybody and any company.
Plus, as others have said, with coronavirus - and now a stricter lockdown - drivers who deliver for all companies, not just amazon, are not waiting for responses once they knock or ring, and I don't blame them.
