    The Elec
    It's all bit of a mess, (E Reads of  8998 and 46340 on 10 Dec 2019 ! ?)
However we have Customer reads of 43329 on Jan 4 2019  & 45085 on July 8 2019  = 1756 Kwh over 7 months that include half of the Winter period, as the house has Gas heating, doubling this consumption gives more than generous estimate of the annual consumption as 3512
    3512 Kw @ 13p £456.56 + 365 days @ 17p £62.05 =  £518.61 + 5% vat £25.93 - TOTAL £544.54 .
So it appears that the largely Estimated Elec bill isn't too far out £599, and the consumption is within the bounds of average use

    The Gas
The E consumption is so far off the scale it would be laughable if it wasn't translated into money - It's close to 6 times more than that of  the average household - The only defence with Zero detail given is, "Prove it"

Who is this supplier ? - Please name them as the regulars on this site have long memories and this supplier may have 'form'

It seems to be a two-rate meter (probably Economy 7) that's billed at single rate.  Unfortunately the OP has only provided the day readings.

The bright slime green logo at the top of the bill gives a clue...

Gerry On the ball as usual, the MPAN starts with 02 which denotes it as an ECO7 meter
OP With the billing running for 12 months I guess this dwelling was a rental - I know it's been 11 months since you moved, but is there any chance of visiting it and asking the present tenants what the Gas meter read was when they moved in?

I’m not sure about the readings, I remember filling some in on line. I’m going to call them today, can anyone advise me what to say to them. Sorry I sound dumb, I’ve never been good at understanding these bills and know I’d just end up paying it as I don’t know what point I’m arguing
    thanks
If you're that dumb then the last thing you should do is call them :D
Seriously though, don't call them, put it in writing. It can be confusing enough at the best of time, even more so if you don't have much experience arguing these things. Much better to do it in writing, so that you can take your time and have a record of exactly what was said by both sides.
You need to open a complaint about your bill (I like the Resolver website, but some don't, and you can instead use email or letter).
If you can get readings then you should complain about the bill, provide the readings and ask them to recalculate. If you can't get them, then you should complain about the bill and ask them to re-estimate and/or provide their rationale for their estimates.
Later on, once they have the estimates down to a reasonable level, you can then point out that the didn't bill you until Oct 2020, and so they can only bill for un-billed energy used since Oct 2019.
I would suggest that the fact that they didn't take DD until Nov 2020, is good evidence that they did not bill until Oct 2020, but if you can get other evidence to confirm that, all the better (make sure to go online and take copies/screenshots of everything, whether you think it is important or not).
Finally, did they send you a notification that they were going to take that amount by DD? If not, then you should be able to contact your bank and get the DD reversed under the Direct Debit Guarantee.
You'll end up having to pay something, but there is not reason to let them keep that £1,600 in the meantime, if you can get it back.
