Got in to iWeb but couldn't trade online, ITs were up to date. Got through on phone after 30 mins and top sliced a handful of ITs that were way ahead. Now morningstar won't load to show latest prices.

    This is weird
About 15 minutes ago, I tried to log into IWEB for husband. He's not trying to time the market, just top up ISA with matured regular saver cash.

"Unfortunately we are unable to carry out your request.

Just tried to log in as myself - & got in immediately so logged out & tried again for husband. Same error message as before!

that was same for me. I logged in after noon to execute my planned sell (decision made over the w.e.). Done that. Then couldn't log in again till after market closed. Same message as badger09's. It said Halifax, so guess Halifax was done as well.

Its become their usaul catchphrase "due to demand" their systems stop working. Its really just their way of saying we have bigger customers to keep happy.

Banks and merchants/payments processors undertake millions of transactions (free of charge) everyday, yet they function just fine but these brokers who charge us for breathing conveniently crash at the best of times.

These bigger customers are big institutions who are asking multiple brokers to place their trades, and brokers like Hargreaves Lansdown and AJ Bell etc block us out to carry out work on behalf of the institutions.

The stock markets are a nasty, corrupt business and these brokers are not our friends. Dont expect them to act ethically or tell you the truth. Dont expect their portals to work on the best days. Act patiently and position yourselves earlier slowly, atleast until the FCA decide to clean it up. They wont anytime soon.

Thanks, setup portfolios there some time ago (actually from advice on this forum, maybe even from you!). Morningstar was back an hour or so later. Yesterday was obviously a VERY busy day. Sold some Monks and US ETFs when they were 5% up and rebalanced about a third today into Smithson 2.5% down. I wonder if we will get a little more bounce downwards? I think the rest will top up capital preservation ITs, difficult to see how the economic fundamentals justify some of these valuations.

Stick to the fundamentals and you won't go wrong. Basics of investing were written in stone a long time ago.
