Virgin call centres closed?

Well, that's annoying...

I called Virgin regarding an issue with my BB a week ago; they confirmed they do see something wrong and said they would diagnose it and get back to me via email.

I've heard nothing, so I called them today to see if I could get an update.

Going through their automated call included a verification that there is (still) an issue and it said it would put me through to speak to someone, at which point there was a message saying their call centres are closed due to coronavirus and I should try the web site.

Of course, the web site goes through a few steps and then says I need to call and speak to someone.

So meanwhile, I'm stuck with a ropey 200 Mb BB connection which has drop-outs and even failed to load all the images on the BBC website earlier on.

Oh well, they're now apparently open, but I've been listening to a loop of about half a dozen songs for 40 minutes.

Right - 50 mins on hold and I got through to someone.

Whatever should've happened a week ago didn't, but an engineer is booked for Thursday; apparently my signal may be too strong!

Incidentally, the "call centre is closed due to coronavirus" message triggers if there are too many calls in the queue.
