I phoned pipex up on the 28th November and asked for my MAC code within 10 mins i had it so i joined adsl24 which i have just been activated today.
What do i need to do now regarding cancelling my pipex as the bloke on the phone said if you dont use your MAC code your pipex account will be still active.
I need to know how i go about cancelling my account as ive said im with adsl24 now.
My next pipex payment comes out on the 9th December so i need to know how much will i owe them and if i can cancel my direct debit payments.
I read i have to give them 30 days payment but considering i asked for my MAC code on the 28th November will this be the date my 30 days start from.
Ive been told when i phone up i shouldn't say im cancelling in case pipex accidentally misunderstands and cease ADSL on myphone line entirely.

Have you looked here? (Section 3).
I don't use Pipex, but it appears that you have to pay them whatever is owing according to your original contract. E.g. if you still have six months left of an annual contract, you owe them six months payment. Where did you get the figure of 30 days? (Unless you are still under the 30 day money-back guarantee that they offer at the stat of the contract)."The trouble with quotations on the Internet is that you never know whether they are genuine" - Charles Dickens0 -
I was not in a 12 month contract with pipex ive been with them for years.Ive been asking on other sites i go on and have been told its more or less universal you have to pay them 30 days after you leave.
All i want is some information regarding what i need to say to them when i phone them later on today.
As Ive been told you say i have migrated from pipex and not to tell them you want to cancel as they might cease ADSL on my phone line.0 -
Ring them and ask them directly where you stand regarding your contract, they will clear it up for you.
I'm in a similar situation with pipex and they said to me once I use my MAC code they stop taking money.
Anyway ring them and just ask.0 -
I phoned them yesterday m8 and asked them if it was ok to cancel my DD but pay them by cheque for monies i owe and they said yes, so i cancelled the DD straight away.
Ive heard stories of them trying to take money out after people have left, i thought if you cancel the DD they cannot do anything about it.0 -
They said to me that they will refund me for the remaining days for the month when I switch to a new provider. Once that happens I'm free to delete the DD mandate although there is no actual need to do so. All sounds pretty straight forward. They can only legally take money if there is a service being provided.0
