Virgin mid contract upgrade discount

Hi - kind of expecting answer here is no but thought worth asking anyway.
I’m 6 months into 18 month contract with virgin at £25 a month for 100mb (cheaper than their current new customer deal). I want to upgrade the speed but their upgrade offer for existing customers is awful. I realise I have zero leverage, but wondered whether anyone has successfully negotiated a great deal in this position? Not interested in tv, mobile or any extras, just want a speed increase at a great deal.

Thinking about it I think the best angle I can go for is that if they extend the contract when moving me to a new speed then technically it is a new agreement and it’s fair to ask for new rates0
