PIR LED light stuck on

I have a motion activated outside light which is stuck on 24/7. It usually comes on only in the dark when activated by movement but for some reason it’s stuck.
I tried turning the switch on and off repeatedly which also made my other light at the front get stuck on (connected to the same switch). Then I turned it off for an hour to
see if that would work but it’s still stuck (front light resolved by this).
is it broken and I need a new one?

New ones are cheap so I would just replace it.

Depending on exactly how it's wired up, it could be a very simply DIY job to replace.ForestBluebells said:

A lot of these types of lights have a removable cover on the back with a small terminal block inside and if yours is this type, then it would simply be a case of ensuring that the power is turned off, removing the cover and disconnecting the wiring from the TB and if you can get an identical replacement, fitting it would be easy as well.
If you didn't have a light there before it was installed, a lot of the cost may have been for running in the new wiring and putting in a switch.1 -
Agree with others if you can buy the same model a simple swap to do just make sure the power is isolated0

Have you got an electronic lamp installed in it, eg LED? Cheap PIR electronic switching was originally designed to switch resistive loads (ie old fashioned incandescant lamps). By fitting LED or other low energy electronically controlled bulbs in the fitting often causes the electronics in the PIR switch to fail as they weren't designed for non resistive loads/lamps.
Signature on holiday for two weeks0 -
I’m not sure to be honest, I had an electrician fit it (and he supplied it too). My DIY skills are definitely not up to wiring0

The cost of replacing it will be far less than the cost of having it installed in the first place. Even if it's not an identical model, it should be the quickest and simplest of jobs for a sparky to do.
And, yes, it's almost certainly completely knack'ed and not cost-effective to repair (unless diyed). Quite possibly relay contacts which have fused together through arcing.
Go for LED-based model for lamp longevity (tho' that won't prevent it failing electronically like yours has. And mine recently...)1 -
I think Black Friday sale shopping is on the cards for a floodlight camera then in that case

The LED external lights are in my experience very poor quality. I had a halogen PIR lamp which lasted years, but last time the bulb failed the screw to get into it was rusted solid.
Replaced with an LED which worked less than a year, replaced that under guarantee and the new one failed after a few months.
I'm replacing with a metal body halogen unit.1 -
I can’t remember when I had this installed but maybe 1 -2 years ago0
