Virgin Service outages and working from home

Since the start of the first lockdown, there have been 4 of us working from home generally going quite smoothly. In the last month, our Virgin services have gone down on 3 separate occasions the first two times it was for a day each and this current time will be from Thursday - Monday (And also missing the Premier League matches on Sky/BT this weekend). I am losing money due to not being able to work currently over £200 and rising each day. The others not so much but their employers aren't that happy that they haven't been able to do much work a few times now.
I asked Virgin if they have any sort of compensation scheme and they've said that if it's over 48 hours you'll get £8 a day so for the first two outages I got nothing and this time I'm likely to get £40. The compensation seems a bit low for the amount of loss I've suffered.
Is there anything I can do about this?

Unless you have a business package where you pay for the reliability and get dibs on repairs when it goes wrong, you're unfortunately at the back of the queue on residential packages for priority support, work from home or otherwise, so anything you do get will be the minimum and if its off for a while, its off for a while:

In the case of Virgin Business, you would pay more to get the fault fixed in 12/24/48 hours, so they'll throw everything but the kitchen sink at the problem so to speak to get it done in that timescale.  On a domestic package?  Not going to happen.

If internet access is that critical to you, then get a backup connection.

Get a connection installed from any of the openreach based suppliers. Or get a 4G router and an unlimited data SIM, or use wifi hotspot on your phone, etc.

£20 to £25 a month split between 4 of you isn't much to pay to ensure that you are able to keep working through any outages.
