E.ON tariff query

Although my smart meters are working again, I have just been advised to give manual meter readings so I am confused as to whether E.ON can read my meters or not.

Also I have been advised that it is not possible currently to update the tariff data.

Feeling let down again and if this isn't sorted I will think about moving to another energy company.

I know I can send my own meter readings but this is hardly the point !

I was pestered into having smart meters a few years ago and have had nothing but problems with them.
Personally I don't think they are fit for purpose.

jings, just ignore the 'smart meter', just take a meter reading, at least monthly, inform your provider and record usage and cost yourself, you don't need a spreadsheet.

Beware false savings claims.

Energy Helpline may be over-stating the cost of your current service. In my case my Avro Energy costs were over-estimated by £114 and they claimed a £61 saving with E-on which in reality was an additional cost of £53. So make sure you know your current costs before committing. Also be prepared for repeated calls from Energy Helpline (020 3974 9266). I don't know how they got my number.
