DWP Paying me erroniously
Comments

It's baffling that somebody somewhere isn't missing their pension, pension credit and fuel allowance and complaining about it (unless they're dead of course). The size of the WF payment indicates that the intended recipient was born before 27/09/1940.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.0

John72Oliver said:This week the payment marked ' DWP SP REFERENCE: 000000000116991689' was for £155.41, the payment marked ' DWP PC REFERENCE: 000000000115941368' was for £12.11. Those two are the same every week but this week was special. An extra payment marked 'DWP W F REFERENCE: 000000000121433555' for £300 was made. That's somebody's winter fuel allowance.
As for demanding compensation, I would love to just to humiliate them into behaving better. Ultimately though it is tax payers money and we all end up paying for that. I'm not making a moral judgement of anybody but that is someone that I do not want to be.You need to remove the national insurance number from the posts.Presuming it's not your national insurance number, with that number the DWP should be able to see whose payments they are and correct the issue.

As I said at the start, they were unable to trace their payments despite the reference numbers. They actually declined to take the refernce nubers from me because they would be unable to use them.anmarj said:That is somebody’s payment going in to your account either it was typed in error or wrong details given. Have you given dwp that number at the start? Ask them to suspend payments0 -
@tomtom256 you may want to edit your post to remove the NI numbers.
@John72Oliver write to the DWP, head the letter complaint, then a simple one line sentence along the lines of "the following payments and reference numbers have been made to my account and are not mine:
First payment
Second payment
Third payment etc
I trust you are able to locate the correct person these are due to and the payments into my account will stop.
CC in your local MP and send a copy of the letter to them.
Calling DWP won't get you through to the right people who will understand how to trace and rectify it.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.0 -

Please remove the NI number from your previous comment, this is a public forum and this information shouldn't be here. Although i realise it's very likely not yours but that's not the point.

Ask to speak to a team leader then. First part of what you quoted, will give the team leader the right access.0

State Pension some poor sod isn't receiving. I just started getting mine. First payment was too low due to my having paid for an extra NI year. Called them and they said they hadn't paid me anything yet, payment not on system. Hope they pay me twice now. But seriously not surprised that they can't sort this. They don't seem to know what they are doing.0

Well £300 will be the Winter Fuel payment.
PC = Pension Credit
SP = State Pension
Given that it seems that no one has flagged that the payments are missing that it is either a deceased person, or the account the funds go to is not monitored.
If there was a NI number than they would be able to trace the account that way.Life in the slow lane0
