Excellent thanks!Scrapit said:
Read the mse guide, basically use all the comparison sites, then check those not on comparison sites, then check the specialists. It laborious but can save alot of money. I'm doing it now.venomx said:Fair enough that's all I need to know for now. Fingers crossed that by speculating quotes it hasn't messed anything up. I'm just the kind of guy to look too far into the future .
When I do come to look. Which site is best to compare ? Are comparison sites the best ?
Just a waiting game now to hear back from the DVLA regarding medical condition0 -
Does credit score affect your insurance options and quotes?0
-
Your credit history may affect insurance costs, particularly if you choose to pay monthly.0

Ok just as I thought . I'd rather pay upfront anywayGrumpy_chap said:Your credit history may affect insurance costs, particularly if you choose to pay monthly.0 -
That is why I was careful to insert "If so," to avert such a troll comment. However it's now 'not so', as the OP all of a sudden remembered how he contravened an instruction not to drive after a certain time.[Deleted User] said:
That is a very far-reaching and intemperate conclusion to draw from one isolated incident. An incident, by the way, where we have only one side of the story, and that which the OP can only "vaguely remember".nottsphil said:
So are you saying that you didn't contravene any of the conditions yet they cancelled it without guiding you away from your nighttime usage?venomx said:
As it was a long time a go I can only vaguely remember.nottsphil said:
With no intention of being critical, can you tell me if this was through exceeding some night-time driving allowance or was driving always prohibited at that time? If it's simply a case of them not liking the amount of night-time driving you were doing and they cancelled it without warning, that would be outrageous.venomx said:
It involved one of them black boxes , I was driving through the night at times and they cancelled itfoxy-stoat said:Just one of them things, as you have had a policy cancelled by the insurers its a material fact. If the premiums get too high then you could always try a broker and explain the circumstances around it and it may be less painful. How irresponsible were you to of had your insurance cancelled?
There was a traffic light system whereby they judged my driving as green amber or red.
Driving at night would put me in amber or red and because it was most weekends they cancelled it out the blue
If so, Britain's insurance industry is truly broken because that decision appears to have blighted your premiums for life.
Also, I came to the conclusion that the system was broken when I found myself in the same situation as criminals after choosing not to drive for 6 years, despite never having had a single point on my licence.0 -
I live in a small block of flats and not sure where my car park is classed as ?
It's open, but part of the premises where my flat is, and only used by people who live here... the options are attached

Regarding no claims, if you havent driven in a long time are you suppose to tick 0 no claims? I havent drove in about 8 years now
I drove for about one year, between the end of 2011 to the beginning of 2013. However the original insurance got cancelled and I had to find a new insurer. So guessing I'll have to start from scratch?
After doing some reading on Aviva it says no claims bonus is only valid if you havent drove for 3 years or less. Looks like I'll have to start from scratch

It looks like you will have to start from zero NCB.
As far as I am aware, NCB can only be preserved for a couple of years if not used on a live policy. The exact criteria may vary between insurers, but 8 years is a long time.0 -
A 5 door would be cheaper to insure than a 3 door right ?0
