PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING: Hello Forumites! In order to help keep the Forum a useful, safe and friendly place for our users, discussions around non-MoneySaving matters are not permitted per the Forum rules. While we understand that mentioning house prices may sometimes be relevant to a user's specific MoneySaving situation, we ask that you please avoid veering into broad, general debates about the market, the economy and politics, as these can unfortunately lead to abusive or hateful behaviour. Threads that are found to have derailed into wider discussions may be removed. Users who repeatedly disregard this may have their Forum account banned. Please also avoid posting personally identifiable information, including links to your own online property listing which may reveal your address. Thank you for your understanding.
We're aware that some users are experiencing technical issues which the team are working to resolve. See the Community Noticeboard for more info. Thank you for your patience.

Consumer Units went from Metal to Plastic (as the metal could become "live"), then they decided plastic metals, so we should have metal ones. Give it a few years and they'll need to be something else. That's the way it is.More cynical people might suggest some changes deliberately create work, change regulations to make them safer, sparkies pay you for the new training, sparkies pass said cost onto consumer, regulatory bodies make money and justify their existence. When it goes wrong they'll deny everything anyway, saying it was up to the regulations of the day and now they have changed them, so it's not their fault.0
