Non-meter advice

Options
I have requested a water meter today, but was horried to find out yesterday that my United Utilies water bill for neary £900 a year (currently £85 a month DD) is not normal.
Does anyone have any advice on how to approach them to try and claim some money back? I’m totally clueless with how to approach this.
Any help will be much appreciated. TIA

Why didn’t you already have a water meter? They normally offer to install one as soon as a new customer moves in.
I doubt you’ll get any sort of rebate, but unless you’re a huge household, you’ll save money from install onwards.

    Welcome to the forum.
For the last 30 years every water company have included information about water meters with the bills(often in the small print) they send to customers. In addition there have been countless articles/programmes in the media about the possible/probable savings in getting a meter installed.
So there is no provision in the Water Act for backdating bills.

'Normal' - no such thing. Yes it is a high RV, but some pay much more. You have always had the option of changing to a meter.

Yes. RVs vary wildly - from less than £150pa to over £1k pa.
