If you buy Asics, their website frequently has "last seasons colors" online - which is great if you know the size and model you want ... unfortunately Asics aren't really known for their white unbranded trainers.

I would personally get some fitted - but that's unlikely to be cheap.

Edit: Boohoo Man have some trainers that might work, but they're fashion trainers rather than serious runners (and don't come in a half size), but they are white and about £ 20

The BooHoo ones look like a good option, thankyou!
Ah, looks like they don't lace up. Concerned they'd be loose while running.
  • I don't understand...

You want to do some proper running outdoors, but you don't like wearing branded or "name" clothing, so you'd prefer to run in some fashion trainers that will probably **** your feet up totally?

I do running outdoors (just running around the park, etc, been doing it a few times a week since lockdown) but I don't wear branded clothing. I have been wearing some running shoes from Clarks, but they don't sell this range any longer. I don't want to run in fashion trainers, I want something that'll do the job, just no logos.

I think they've tucked the ends of the laces in behind the tongue for stylistic reasons - so I see no reason that they won't do up / be loose.

Boohoo does have other white trainers though.

A pair of Nike Vaporfly.  You will run so fast, no-one will be able to see the brand flying past just a blur.

Have you tried the supermarkets? They tend to have non branded footwear - for example Sainsburys have white trainers <£20.  Though, as others have said, budget runners/trainers aren't generally a good idea; you need to look after your feet.

Don't buy a cheap brand, you'll pay for it in injuries and potential long-term damage.

But the BooHoo shoes you said looked like a "good option" are precisely that -  fashion trainers.  It even says so on that link.

I've got to ask (as I'm really curious) but why don't you "wear branded clothing"?  I don't really understand what you mean as I'm really struggling to imagine what a "non-branded" item of clothing would be.  Do you mean something that has no identifying marks on it whatsoever?  Like no labels or no motifs whatsoever?  Is it some kind of reverse life-style statement that you don't want to be seen wearing recognisable or fashionable names or brands?

If you were motivated by ethical considerations I could sort of understand it as many of the big sports brands have been implicated in exploiting third world sweat shops in the past.  But most of them have tried to put that behind them because of the poor publicity they attracted.  To be honest, I'd have thought the working conditions involved in producing cheap and unbranded shoes and clothing would be a lot worse.

Seriously, if you want to buy shoes to go running in, buy the best you can afford.  By all means be guided by advice from a physio or a podiatrist or even someone in a running shoe shop, but don't make a choice based on "I don't wear branded clothing".

(What makes you think the BooHoo shoes aren't "branded" or don't have a name on them, or a motif, or aren't recognisable?)

This is one of the downsides of MSE - there is an element of wanting "cheapest possible" rather than accepting that on some things you really do need to spend more (and yes I flagged the boohoo trainers).

If it were me, I'd go and get fitted in a proper shop and buy whatever brand etc. was recommended in whatever colours were available, as I value my feet and knees, but I also appreciate that many people don't feel the same, or have the money to have the choice.

If you run - you shouldn’t run in basic fashion trainers. Period. What’s more important ? Your health and the wellbeing of your feet? Or trainers without a pattern on them? As much as you might dislike branded shoes - those are the ones that have pumped millions into research to ensure you get decent support, durability, cushioning and the least likely to cause any damage to your body. I’m sure you can get discreetly branded running shoes that won’t quite match the ‘I want all white shoes’ - but I don’t think you’re going to get ‘good’ running shoes in the spec that you’re looking for. Health and well-being is more important than not liking labels on your feet.
