Exempt from lockdown, private medical practice?

Okay, my wife works for a private medical practice. All the admin staff like her 'assumed' they'd be locked down from Thursday and working from home.
The consultants that run the company say that 'Medical service companies' are exempt from locking down and they want everyone in.
I've looked through the rules as published on Oct 31st and Nov 1st and all I can see is that NHS medical service are exempt not the private sector.
Does anyone have any insight into this part of the rules?
Thanks...

If the company deems it necessary, that they can only do their job from the office, then they can be required to go in.1

This isn't the same level of lockdown as previously. Not yet anyway.0

I don't know but I visisted my Chiropodist today, she's private not NHS and she told me she can remain open. She rents a room inside an Opticians and checked with them and they are also staying open for their usual trading hours. This is unlike last time when Opticians only were open to emergency only.0

Two of them have people in their family that are shielding and are very worried about getting in. . .

One thing the government said was that they want all areas of medicine to carry on running, unlike last time, they don’t want a build up of waiting lists in other areas that happened last time.
So I’m not surprised that a medical company is still open.
The idea is to reduce the burden on the NHS, so to close private medical services.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. THE basic question they should be asking themselves is "Just how could anyone medical 'work from home' and do their job properly?", followed by "Why are we in this job anyway? Is it to help people or to earn an income for ourselves personally?"
The answer then becomes pretty obvious imo.

Two of them have people in their family that are shielding and are very worried about getting in. . .Just to be clear, NOBODY is shielding. Shielding was paused at the end of July and has not been resumed.
All the staff have to do is to implement the measures that have been posted on here a myriad of times and are also on the gov site.
There has been no mention of additional special measures for those living with vulnerable or clinically extremely vulnerable people apart from what is already out there.0 -
