Think the person you spoke to may have gotten confused about which model has been discontinued .

As I mentioned, when it comes to these types of items, the stock indicators aren't reliable on play. One person I know ordered a laptop from play and it got to the stage of saying it was being packaged (for quite a while) and when phoned up they said they no longer sold that model and had no intention of getting it again because it had been discontinued. Not sure how they were able to "package" something they didn't have and afterwards they not only still had it on their site it also said it was "in stock". Similar thing happened to my brother also he got his laptop after about a month and a half eventually but again all along it said it was in stock. Although since I found out about having no consumer rights with play.com I'd not let anybody I know order anything like that off them.
