So sorry that you felt that you had to comment on my poor English especially as I have not been educated in England but have lived here for 30 years. My sincere apologies and thank you for your most valuable information and assistance as it has really help me with my queries and especially as I am looking forward to a month without any income and a cancer diagnosis for my husband. Hope you have a fabulous evening with your family and feel great about what you have contributed with tonight I will forward your assistance to my daughters in case I have failed them as a mother with my poor English and you made me feel really good about myself and my future. Please do comment on any further mistakes I may have made as it is of real importance to me. I will apologise to my work colleagues for any mistakes I may make when discussing anything with them. Sometimes spell check does funny things.........mattyprice4004 said:Just to clarify, it’s furlough - furlong is a unit of measurement, approximately 201m.
Worth knowing in case you need to discuss it with anyone at work etc
Was there really any need for that? You asked a question, which you got an answer for, even if the spelling wasn't quite correct, you still got an answer. I'm sorry that you are one of those that have fallen through the cracks again but just like the first lockdown, the government can't please everyone.

Yes I was really great full for the other answers I got, but how was this spelling correction of any help? Did it answer my question especially as the others knew exactly what I meant? How did he answer my question when he just picked on a stupid spelling mistake? The government have unfortunately done nothing for me or my husband and I didn’t come here to get pity just information which the other two kindly gave me. Thank you for your input.poppy12345 said:lloyd7 said:

Mattyprice wasn't being rude. Most of us hadn't heard the word furlough before this year. He was just trying to help.lloyd7 said:

When making requests of your employer it is important that the wording and terminology is correct otherwise you immediately lose credibility
Matty was merely correcting an inaccuracy to help you in the future
Think about how and what you write as this may have an impact on how you are perceived and ultimately the help that you will get1 -
Don't take it the wrong way, they were doing you a favour, you really wouldn't have wanted new colleagues smirking about you getting it wrong.lloyd7 said:
